Flea Treatment
Fleas are parasites that feed on blood from humans, cats, dogs, mice, rats and other rodents. A flea can jump up to 8 inches high and are usually found on pet bedding, shoes, clothes, blankets, and upholstery. Fleas are commonly carried inside of homes through pets who frequent the outdoors without having protection from fleas such as flea collars, topical or oral treatments prescribed by your pet’s veterinarian. It is always highly recommended to have pets treated even if your home isn’t infested with fleas.
In order to effectively treat for fleas, it is imperative that we have cooperation from our clients. There is prep work to be done prior to the treatment and then ongoing work after the treatment to properly break flea population’s life and reproductive cycle. It typically takes anywhere from a few weeks or up to a month for the entire population to be eradicated in most situations. If you have pets, we recommend that you consult with a veterinarian to provide control on the animals themselves. By the time you find a few fleas on your pet, many flea eggs may have potentially fallen into carpet fibers and crevices in the floor.
